What the heck were the Yankees thinking when they traded reliever Armando Benitez just three weeks after acquiring him from the Mets?

Armando Benitez
Yankee fans are still rejoicing that they'll no longer see Benitez in pinstripes.
A. "He was chumming around a little too much with Mariano Rivera for our tastes. Some of that stuff might rub off, you know."

B. "It's the first step in our 'Free-Up-Enough-Money-To-Land-A-Rod' initiative."

C. "We tried to trade him even farther away than Seattle, but Tokyo didn't want him."

D. "What's the big deal? We threw in the recorded message about this reliever self-destructing in 15 days."

E. "You thought we were going to let him pitch in October? What does Brian Cashman look like? Steve Phillips?"

F. "So now we know for sure. If it walks like a washed-up, confidence-lacking former closer, and talks like a washed-up, confidence-lacking former closer, chances are it is a washed-up, confidence-lacking former closer."
