Tennis, everyone? From the Page 2 mailbag |
| After last week's Mystery Photo caught Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates invading the turf of Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, we wondered if Sampras and Agassi would get a turn at running Microsoft and Amazon.com. "Hey, Bill, thanks for buying Andre and Pete for me. They make great bookends." Zelda Zunk Denver
"Our billions for your wives?"
"Jeff, if I had a million dollars for every one of your double faults ... oh, wait, I do."
Andre: "Hey, Pete, my nerd is richer than your nerd." Jeff: "Did you see the prize money check?" Bill: "Yeah, I know, I'm making that shaking your hand!"Wil Kemp St. Louis
"Hey, Bill, thanks for switching teams with me. I know how you don't like to split things up."
"Boy, Bill, you were right -- we shoulda just bought them outright instead of leasing them ..."
Microsoft officials found that the early tests of the robotic Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi were a success, and the exclusive deal to sell them via Amazon will go on as planned.
"OK, Pete, no 'Net' or 'server' jokes at the press conference, got it?"
Agassi: "Hey, Pete, I bet you even Gates over there can beat you at the French."
"Hey, Bill, check it out -- Anna's watching. Oh, my gosh, my wallet just fell on
the ground, and would you look at all the million-dollar bills laying there."
Sampras and Agassi, not quite sure how they got here, recall past glories, while Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos share stories about the first time they sold their souls to the devil.
"Now that we have an even amount of hair on each side, let's get it on!"
Apparently, "Take Your Billionaire To Work" Day got way out of hand.
Andre points out the three front row fans he wants Bill to buy for him.
After a series of long, hard negotiations, the tandem of Jeff Bezos and Pete Sampras reached an agreement with Bill Gates and Andre Agassi on how to split up the country. Man, this new tennis game for Microsoft X-Box looks incredibly real. You can almost see the stubble on Andre's head, the tears on Pete's face as he realizes he isn't the best on the court, and the horns on Bill Gates' forehead. You can even hear the whispers in the crowd of, "Who the heck is Jeff Bezos?"
All was calm on the court until Bill Gates shouted, "One, two, three, four, time to start a thumb war."
