What was Barry Bonds thinking?
Page 2 staff

You know the drill by now.

There's a lot of strange stuff happening in the world of sports -- and in the real world, for that matter -- so Page 2 is here once again to try to make sense of all the weirdness with another edition of "What the Heck Are They Thinking?"

Barry Bonds
Bonds has already passed the Babe in number of lockers and massage chairs
We've tried to figure out what some prominent folks might be thinking -- if anything -- and the best we could do was come up with multiple possibilities, all equally plausible. So, as always, we are asking for your help. Check out the options for each questionable act or quote, and vote in the poll to move on to yet another strange (but true) story.

What the heck was Barry Bonds thinking when he dissed Babe Ruth by saying, " ... as a left-handed hitter, I wiped him out ... I got his slugging percentage and I'll take his home runs, and that's it. Don't talk about him no more."

A. "As a womanizing lush, however, he's got me beat, hands down."

B. "I don't have any human friends left to alienate. Might as well start offending the dead, too."

C. "Same goes for Ted Williams, Ty Cobb and Stan Musial."

D. "I'm still better than him even if you subtract all my at-bats against the Padres pitchers."

E. "And I'm no fan of John Goodman, either."

F. "What's the big deal about Ruth, anyway? He doesn't even have one ESPY."
