Earl Holmes (10 tackles, six solo) and Levon Kirkland (8 tackles, 6 solo, 1 sack), the inside linebackers in the Steelers' 3-4 scheme, can fight over it. Don't try to break it up. Cowboys PR Deion Sanders came back from a concussion and returned a punt 70-yard for a touchdown, giving Dallas an 18-point lead with a little more than nine minutes remaining. The contact-shy Sanders also had four tackles on the day. Cowboys QB Troy Aikman. While Sanders showed some toughness, Aikman was a constant throughout. The accurate passer hit 20 of his 32 throws for 244 yards and two TDs. He also ran for a 1-yard TD early in the fourth quarter. Cowboys (4-2) at Colts (4-2).

Vikings RB Moe Williams burst untouched up the middle for a 9-yard TD run that gave Minnesota a 31-16 lead with 2:54 left in the third quarter. The Vikes scored 26 of the game's final 29 points. Vikings RB Leroy Hoard, While most of the attention was focused on Jeff George, the other new starter in Minnesota's backfield had a great day. Hoard ran 17 times for 105 yards and the game's first TD. Vikings (3-4) at Broncos (2-5).

The Broncos elected to try a 59-yard field goal with 1:40 remaining rather than go for it on fourth-and-7 from the Patriots' 40. Jason Elam's kick fell well short, and New England beat Denver for the first time since 1980. Patriots RB Terry Allen. New England entered the day with the NFL's 27th-ranked rushing offense, but Allen helped the Pats dominate on the ground. He ran for a season-high 106 yards and two touchdowns. Patriots (5-2) at Cardinals (2-4).

Raiders QB Rich Gannon hit James Jett for a 5-yard TD pass with 26 seconds remaining, capping an 11-play, 90-yard drive in the final two minutes. The Jets, who blew a 17-point lead, were then intercepted on the first play of their final possession. Gannon. The Oakland QB was brilliant over the final 16 minutes, engineering three scoring drives. Overall, he completed 26 of 51 passes for 352 yards and two TDs. He threw for 267 of those yards in the second half alone and also rushed five times for 60 yards. Raiders (4-3) vs. Dolphins (5-1).

Trailing 26-16, Doug Flutie drove Buffalo to the Seattle 36 with a little more than five minutes left. No miracle finish this time: Michael Sinclair sacked Flutie and Sam Adams recovered Flutie's fumble at the 45, putting the Seahawks in position to run down the clock. Seahawks QB Jon Kitna, who continues to improve under Mike Holmgren's guidance. The third-year pro from Central Washington completed 17 of 30 passes for 276 yards, two TDs -- both to Derrick Mayes -- and no interceptions. Seahawks (4-2) at Packers (4-2).

Packers QB Brett Favre engineered a 99-yard, 14-play drive to give Green Bay a 28-3 lead with three seconds left in the third quarter. Favre capped the march with a 3-yard TD pass to Antonio Freeman and then soon took a seat on the bench. The Packers secondary -- or maybe the Chargers QBs are just that bad. Either way, Green Bay intercepted six passes, including two for Tyrone Williams. Darren Sharper, Mike McKenzie, Antuan Edwards and Fred Vinson had one pick apiece. Packers (4-2) vs. Seahawks (4-2).

Panthers QB Steve Beuerlein fumbled early in the fourth quarter after being sacked by Ron Rice at the Detroit 20. Lions LB Tracy Scroggins recovered, ending a drive that had reached Detroit's 3. Lions QB Charlie Batch made up for the loss of top running back Ron Rivers by completing 16 of 27 passes for 210 yards and two scores. Both TDs came in the third quarter and broke open a 10-9 game. Lions (4-2) vs. Bucs (3-3).

Eagles K Norm Johnson missed a game-tying field-goal attempt with 52 seconds remaining. The 42-yarder sailed wide right, enabling the Dolphins to preserve the win by running out the clock. Dolphins K Olindo Mare. He went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts to run his streak to 17. Mare hit twice from 37 yards out and once from 53 yards. The 53-yarder in the fourth quarter held up as the game-winner. Dolphins (5-1) at Raiders (4-3).

The first half ended with the Rams up 21-3, far too daunting a deficit for the Browns against a St. Louis defense that has allowed only one touchdown the past two weeks. Let's split it between Rams QB Kurt Warner, who completed 23 of 29 passes for three TDs and no interceptions, and RB Marshall Faulk, who totaled 200 yards and a TD on 16 carries and nine receptions. The Colts' fourth consecutive score, Mike Vanderjagt's 22-yard FG late in the second quarter, gave Indianapolis a 24-0 lead. Minus Corey Dillon, the Bengals lacked the offensive balance to catch up. Colts WR Marvin Harrison caught eight passes for 156 yards and a 56-yard touchdown, his NFL-leading eighth TD catch of the year, tying his career high. Colts (4-2) vs. Cowboys (4-2).

Bears QB Jim Miller's pass to Ryan Wetnight was intercepted by Tampa Bay's Derrick Brooks at the Bears' 49 with 45 seconds remaining. The Bears had a chance to win or tie the game after getting the ball with 1:43 left. Brooks. The Bucs LB provided all the spark his team needed with 10 tackles and two interceptions, including the one that iced the game. His other interception ended a potential Bears' scoring drive in the third quarter. Bucs (3-3) at Lions (4-2).

Chiefs LB Donnie Edwards intercepted Stoney Case's first-down pass at the Ravens' 49, returned it 11 yards and lateraled to Reggie Tongue, who went the final 38 yards for a TD. That put K.C. up 28-0 with 10:35 remaining. Chiefs CB James Hasty. The veteran had 11 tackles and two interceptions. His first pick ended the Ravens' opening drive. He returned his second pick 56 yards for a TD to give the Chiefs a 14-0 lead with 5:10 left in the third quarter. Chiefs (4-2) vs. Chargers (4-1).
