His hands: He keeps his hands in front of his body. For a big guy, he has quick, sharp hands. Great at letting his "D" know where the puck will be. His feet: Long legs cover a lot of net. Feet don't have to do much but are solid nonetheless. His stick: Is efficient at playing the puck. Very good at leaving it in the right place for his "D." His technique: His goalie coach, Benoit Allaire, has been a steady influence. Stays deep in his net, saving on extra movement. He gets square to the shooter and looks huge.
Evgeni Nabokov, San Jose
His hands: Has very quick hands. Makes it looks easy on tough shots high to the glove side. Watches the puck come into his body. His feet: Very solid feet. Quick reaction to the low shots. Has a tendency to battle low, stick-side shots more than on the glove side. His stick: Underrated puckhandler and smart decision maker. His technique: Has a great stance/crouch. He is very efficient in his movement and stays very patient when on a roll. Darren Pang, a former goaltender with the Chicago Blackhawks, is a hockey analyst for ESPN. |
