His hands: Has good hands. Keeps his glove tucked in on his hip. A good reaction goalie from in close. His feet: Can butterfly with the best of them when he's on. Keeps his knees close together, nearly locked, and then gets down quick for the low shots to the post. His stick: Very calm with the puck, keeps things simple and effective. His technique: He has a nice, compact crouch. He is not great at his attention to detail but can come up with some acrobatic, reaction saves that can turn a game around.
Curtis Joseph, Toronto
His hands: Broken. Glove hand, that is. Will this be a factor? Last year it was his stick hand, which can be worse. Has quick hands and great hand-eye coordination. His feet: Quick feet and reaction to the low shots. Has quick-twitch reflexes, tough to beat him in close. His stick: He shoots right but holds his stick with his right, forcing him to "flip" his stick over. His hand will give him problems, I'm sure. May be more conservative with his backhand flipper. His technique: Stays deep in his net, daring you to shoot and relying on his quickness. He varies his technique, sometimes Hasek-like and sometimes Brodeur-esque. You never know.
