As 2002 winds down, Bizarre and Bogus wants to honor some of the stories that made the year more fun.

Take a bow, hockey player and boxer Manute Bol. Thanks for the laughs, Bob Guccione with your fake Anna Kournikova Penthouse photos. And we couldn't have done this feature without the many sellers and buyers of sports crap on the Internet.

As we look forward to more weirdness in the new year, here's our final edition of Bizarre and Bogus of 2002.

  • No. 2 Three Romanian gymnasts appeared nude in a book and performed naked gymnastic routines for a DVD available in Japan.

  • No. 3 Rock 'n' roll legend Alice Cooper is becoming co-owner of a race team next season in the ARCA series.

  • No. 4 Former Eagles and Cardinals kick returner Vai Sikahema chowed down on horse rectum to promote NBC's "Fear Factor."

  • No. 5 Mike Piazza has signed on to portray famed wrestling manager Jimmy Hart in an upcoming biopic about and starring the New York Mets catcher's fellow long-distance hawker, Hulk Hogan.
