Sometimes sports news gets so strange that it's better than anything we could make up.
This week in particular had some doozies, such as Anna Kournikova's 25 double faults in one match. Twenty maybe, but 25? That's just crazy.

No. 1 TV Guide features baseball-themed regional covers that include Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio for the Houston area and Jason Giambi for the Oakland area complete with the major-leaguers' autographs. Giambi's autograph, however, was mistakenly printed upside-down.
No. 2 Former Pittsburgh Steelers great and current Fox NFL commentator Terry Bradshaw gets a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Bradshaw's movie credits include memorable appearances in "The Cannonball Run," "Smokey and the Bandit II" and "Hooper," and he has just as many Academy Awards as Burt Reynolds.

No. 3 While hanging out with Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie, Doug Flutie sacks "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno with a bushel of Flutie Flakes cereal. The 5-10 quarterback for the San Diego Chargers gained revenge for Leno's short jokes.
No. 4 In an attempt to compete with the Lakers and gain favor with Los Angeles' trendy basketball fans, the Los Angeles Clippers announce they've hired fashion guru Tommy Hilfiger to redesign their uniforms. The new look won't be unveiled until the 2002-03 season.

No. 5 John Rocker hasn't seen any action yet against the Mariners in their American League playoff series, but the Cleveland Indians pitcher threw a cup of water at some Seattle hecklers near the Safeco Field bullpen. According to a witness, some normally mild-mannered Seattleites became livid after Rocker's water toss and nearly started a riot.
No. 6 HarperBusiness announces that on Nov. 1 it will release a book about Isiah Thomas titled, "The Fundamentals: 8 Plays for Winning the Games of Business and Life." Before coaching the defending Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers to an eighth-place finish last season, Thomas owned the Continental Basketball Association, which folded earlier this year.
