We here at Page 2 are a little concerned with the proliferation of strange sports news. I mean, Tawny Kitaen allegedly kicking Chuck Finley, an online auction for Luis Gonzalez's gum ... weird news is edging in on mainstream news so much it's hard to find hidden gems for our Bizarre & Bogus feature.

But we persevere and have managed to compile some stranger-than-fiction stories to test if you can tell the difference between fact and fake.

  • No. 2 Veteran shock-rocker Alice Cooper opened a sports-themed restaurant, called Alice Coopers'town, in Cleveland.

  • No. 3 Before he was traded to the Chicago Cubs last month during spring training, pitcher Antonio Alfonseca and a professional wrestler got into an argument that prompted the 6-feet-5-inch, 258-pound reliever to run to a trainer's office and lock the door.

  • No. 4 In a poll of South Korean college students, U.S. Olympic short-track speedskating gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno beat Osama bin Laden as the "most unwelcome" personality at this year's World Cup.

  • No. 5 Haas-Carter Motorsports, which has been searching for a sponsor after K mart withdrew its support because of bankruptcy proceedings, is considering an offer from Vagisil to sponsor its NASCAR Winston Cup car.

  • No. 6 Officials at the Bausch & Lomb Championships discovered, after one opening-round match had been completed, that an improperly lined court left the service court areas three feet shorter than normal.
