Breaking it down: First things first -- it doesn't matter how old Weinke is. How cares if he's 28? What difference does it make if he's a Michael Vick-like 20 or a Bobby Bowden-like 71? All that matters is what he did on the field and that was something special. He threw for 4,167 yards and 33 TDs. He completed 61.7 percent of his passes. But it was in big games where he played the biggest. He threw for 496 yards and three TDs on a bum ankle in the showdown with Miami and threw for 353 yards and three TDs after spending the previous night in a hospital with flu-like symptoms in a win over Florida that all but put FSU back in the national championship game. While a showdown against Heupel and Oklahoma for the national title looms on the field, it looks like Heupel and Weinke will battle for the Heisman Trophy as well.
