LADAINIAN TOMLINSON -- TCU |
| |
| Tomlinson | Breaking it down: Maybe it was easy to overlook Tomlinson because it just seemed natural for him to post PlayStation-like numbers every week. After all, this is the guy who rushed for over 400 yards against UTEP last season. Nothing seemed impossible. He rushed for over 200 yards five times, including a 305-yard effort against -- yep, you guessed it -- UTEP. He finished with 2,158 yards (No. 4 all-time) and won the NCAA rushing title for the second straight season. He is the eighth player to reach 2,000 in a season and finished his career with 5,263 yards, which is No. 6 all-time. He joined former Texas star Ricky Williams as the only members of the 2,000-5,000 Club. In the no-brainer of the year, Tomlinson was the WAC's offensive player of the year and is well deserving of consideration for the Heisman.
