Terrell Owens celebrates one of the biggest catches in 49ers' playoff history. |
Even in the 49ers' storied playoff history, this one deserves a special spot. It took an improbable drive and an amazing catch, but San Francisco finally ended its jinx against Green Bay. Terrell Owens, who had dropped four passes and lost a fumble, held onto a 25-yard touchdown pass from Steve Young with three seconds left, giving the Niners a dramatic 30-27 victory in an NFC wild-card game. Owens' catch capped a 76-yard drive that answered a Brett Favre march that had given the Packers a 27-23 lead. The tough loss might mean the end of an era in Titletown. Sean Salisbury's breakdown
