By Ann Meyers Sunday, April 2 Losing Ace Clement had to hurt the Lady Vols emotionally, but even if they had Chamique Holdsclaw out there tonight, it would not have made a difference. Connecticut was on. The Huskies' quick start set the tempo of the game defensively. The Lady Vols didn't know what hit them. Shea Ralph was all over the perimeter defensively. Kelly Schumacher was a big factor in the paint, which UConn basically controlled. The other big factor was the Huskies' bench. They had fresh players in there all the time. The Lady Vols got winded and made poor decisions in the end because they were so tired. |
