DALLAS (Ticker) -- Brett Hull scored the equalizer with 2:41 to play in regulation against his former team as the Dallas Stars rallied for a 3-3 exhibition tie with the St. Louis Blues. Hull was credited with his third preseason goal when he skated in from the right corner and banked a backhander off Blues defenseman Marc Bergevin and past goaltender Jamie McLennan. Scott Young had given St. Louis a 3-2 lead just over three minutes earlier after Geoff Courtnall scored on a penalty shot to tie it for the Blues. Norris Trophy winner Al MacInnis had the other goal for St. Louis, which played without captain Chris Pronger and moved to 2-2-4 in exhibition play. Mike Modano and Jamie Langenbrunner scored in the first period for the Stars, who led 2-0 before moving to 4-2-3 in the preseason. Dallas, which played without center Joe Nieuwendyk and defenseman Darryl Sydor, had 22 shots But it did not get its 10th until 4:17 of the third period.
