UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- Martin Straka and Jaromir Jagr each had a power-play goal and an assist as the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a 2-1 exhibition victory over the New York Islanders.

With the Islanders leading 1-0 in the second period, Pittsburgh went on a 5-on-3 power play when Eric Brewer was assessed a five-minute spearing penalty and fellow defenseman Mathieu Biron went off for slashing.

Jagr tied it at 14:57 when his slap shot from the high slot beat screened goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Straka scored the game-winner 17 seconds later when he tapped in Rob Brown's cross-ice pass.

Luongo looked solid, turning aside 30 of 32 shots, including glove saves on Jagr and Kevin Hatcher during the Penguins' 17-shot second period.

Tom Barrasso and Jean-Sebastian Aubin combined to stop 15 of 16 shots for the Penguins, who finished the preseason at 2-4.

Niklas Andersson scored a shorthanded goal for the Islanders, whose preseason record fell to 2-3. They have lost all three games at the Nassau Coliseum.
