ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- Guy Carbonneau beat former teammate Roman Turek at 7:39 of the third period to break a tie and lift the Dallas Stars to a 2-1 exhibition victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Carbonneau took a pass from Jamie Langenbrunner in the left faceoff circle and put a wrist shot between Turek's pads two minutes after Pavol Demitra's power-play goal lifted the Blues into a 1-1 tie.

Jamie Pushor opened the scoring for the defending Stanley Cup champions midway through the first period.

Marty Turco stopped all nine shots he faced in the first 29:12 and Manny Fernandez gave up one goal on 16 shots for Dallas, which is 3-0-2 in the preseason.

Fernandez preserved the win with saves on Chris Pronger and Demitra in the final six seconds.

Acquired from the Stars the day after they won the Stanley Cup, Turek finished with 11 saves for St. Louis, which is 1-2-1 in exhibition play.
