The Players Choice Awards Show
Carlos Delgado
Delgado was the night's big winner in Las Vegas.
Carlos Delgado came out as the big winner Friday night at the Players Choice Award Show in Las Vegas. The Blue Jays first baseman was chosen as the AL and Overall Player of the Year by his peers after finishing in the top four in all three Triple Crown categories. Delgado joined the show via satellite from Japan, where he's playing with the MLB All-Star team. Pedro Martinez also made history, earning the AL Outstanding Pitcher honor and winning his record fifth Players Choice Award in the process. Other repeat winners included Randy Johnson, Eric Davis and Frank Thomas. HBO's Arli$$ hosted the show, which was held at the Paris Hotel.
