CINCINNATI (AP) _ Benito Santiago and Sean Casey homered, and Alex Ochoa drove in three runs as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Montreal Expos 8-1 Sunday.

Steve Parris (10-14) won his fifth straight start, allowing nine hits in seven innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. He has not given up more than two runs since his last loss, when the New York Mets beat Cincinnati 3-2 on Aug. 1.

Mike Thurman (4-5) lasted just 3 2-3 innings, allowing five runs, nine hits and four walks.

Ochoa singled in Dmitri Young in the second, and drove him in again in the third with a double. He added an RBI groundout in the sixth.

Casey's solo homer, his 11th, and broke a 1-1 tie in the third.

Montreal had tied the game in the third when Milton Bradley led off with a double, went to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a groundout by Jose Vidro.

Cincinnati added two in the fourth when Michael Tucker singled and Santiago followed with his fourth home run, and three in the sixth on an RBI single by Casey, a sacrifice fly by Young and Ochoa's groundout.

Notes: Vladimir Guerrero had gone a season-high 56 at-bats without a home run until he hit his 32nd Saturday. After going 3-for-4 in that game, he was 4-for-4 Sunday. ... The Expos plan to expand their roster to 30 players on Tuesday by calling up RHPs Guillermo Mota and Jeremy Powell, LHP Sean Spencer and INF Thomas De La Rosa from Triple-A Ottawa. ... Ken Griffey Jr. sat out Sunday's game, only the third he has missed this year, with a sore hip. ... Barry Larkin (.313) has missed the past seven games with a dislocated middle finger on his left hand. He is not expected to play in the three-game series with the New York Mets that starts Monday. ... Reds catcher Eddie Taubensee will be examined by a neurosurgeon this week to see if back surgery is necessary. He's been on the DL since Aug. 1 with a bulging disk.
