RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME LOG

DENVER (AP) _ Mark Loretta drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out pinch double in the 11th as the Milwaukee Brewers rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Todd Helton, slipping recently in his quest to hit .400, went 1-for-4 as his major league-leading average dropped to .390. He went 2-for-11 in the three-game series.

After tying the game with an unearned run in the ninth, the Brewers took the lead against Mike DeJean (4-3) in the 11th.

DeJean walked Lou Collier with two outs and Loretta hit a 2-2 pitch just beyond the reach of right fielder Jeffrey Hammonds, whose diving attempt came up just short.

The Brewers later added another run when Craig House walked Geoff Jenkins with the bases loaded.

Juan Acevedo (3-5) pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the victory, and Curtis Leskanic pitched the 11th for his ninth save in as many chances.

Trailing 4-3 in the ninth, Milwaukee tied the game as Luis Lopez, who went 4-for-5, singled with one out, went to second on Charlie Hayes' single, and scored on a pinch double by Angel Echevarria.

The Brewers missed a chance to go ahead in that inning when Collier was thrown out at the plate on a Marquis Grissom's grounder to Neifi Perez, and Ron Belliard popped out to catcher Ben Petrick.

The Rockies led 4-1 before starter Masato Yoshii stumbled with one out in the seventh, allowing back-to-back solo homers to Tyler Houston and Lopez.

Yoshii, who has won once in 12 starts, left after walking Henry Blanco. He gave up three runs on three homers with three walks and a strikeout.

Milwaukee starter Jimmy Haynes, still seeking his career-best 12th victory, gave up four runs _ three earned _ and eight hits in six innings.

Haynes deserved better as his defense turned what would have been a six-pitch first inning into a 3-0 lead for the Rockies.

With runners at first and second and one out, Hammonds hit a grounder to short for what looked to be an inning-ending double play, but Lopez threw the ball into right field, allowing Perez to score.

Todd Walker followed with a two-run single to end an 0-for-10 slide.

Grissom's 11th homer of the season made it 3-1, but the Rockies responded in their half on Petrick's RBI single.

Notes: Helton has led the NL in hitting for 100 straight days since trailing Jose Vidro on May 28. ... The Rockies have used a team-record 48 players this season. The previous high was 46 in their inaugural 1993 season. ... Milwaukee LHP Ray King pitched a scoreless seventh and has not allowed a run in his last 13 relief appearances. ... Brewers 1B Richie Sexson failed to drive in a run for the first time in five games. ... Milwaukee improved to 10-8 in extra innings.
