The Blue Jays became the fastest team to have five players reach the 20-homer plateau in the same season, thanks to Brad Fullmer's Wednesday performance.
Fullmer hit two homers, giving him 20 for the season. Carlos Delgado (32 homers), Tony Batista (31), Raul Mondesi (24) and Jose Cruz (21) are the other Jays to reach 20 this season.
The Angels, who play at Texas Wednesday night, are one Darin Erstad homer away from achieving the same feat.

Wells pitched a five-hitter to become the first 16-game winner
in the major leagues this season, and Brad Fullmer homered twice
Wednesday as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Indians 8-1.
"When he's on his game, he's pretty tough to beat, so I just
had to go up there and put up goose eggs up, just like him," Wells
said. "Hopefully, you wait him out, and that's what happened. We
got to him, and he started getting frustrated out there, so I went
out there more focused."
Colon (9-8) tied a Bob Feller's Indians record, set in 1938
against Detroit, by striking out his first six batters. Colon
struggled after that, giving up a career-high four homers and
allowing seven runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings.
"When you get pitching duels like that it's great," Wells
said. "When you get the support I got, it pushes you a little
further. It made me want to stay out there and keep them off
balance."
Wells (16-3), winless in his previous two starts after defeating
Montreal on July 8, pitched his league-leading fifth complete game
of the season, improving to 13-3 against Cleveland in his career.
He struck out 11, matching his season high, and walked one.
He allowed his lone run in the sixth, when Alex Ramirez reached
on an infield single and scored on a double by Einar Diaz.
"After he saw Colon strike out the first six, Boomer reached
back," Toronto manager Jim Fregosi said.

Fullmer had the second multi-homer game of his career, raising
his season total to 20. The Blue Jays have five players with 20 or
more homers for the first time in franchise history.
"We have the best offense in the majors," Fullmer said.
"We've been consistent all year. We have a lot of guys who can hit
the ball a long way."
Shannon Stewart led off the fourth with a homer, and Fullmer hit
a two-run drive later in the inning.
"After Stewart hit that homer, Colon got away from the strike
zone," Cleveland manager Charlie Manuel said.
Darrin Fletcher's leadoff homer in the fifth made it 4-0. Carlos
Delgado led off the sixth with a double, and Fullmer homered for a
6-0 lead.
Toronto added two runs in the sixth off Jaime Navarro on
Gonzalez's RBI double and Stewart's run-scoring single.

elbow. Mondesi will travel to Los Angeles to visit Dr. Frank Jobe
on Thursday for a second opinion. ... Wells has only walked 22
batters this season. ... The AL record for strikeouts to start a
game is seven by Joe Cowley, who did it for the Chicago White Sox
on May 28, 1986. The modern major league record of eight was set by
Jim Deshaies in 1986.
