DENVER (AP) _ Raef LaFrentz had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Tracy Murray scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Denver Nuggets over the Los Angeles Clippers 99-89 in an exhibition game Thursday night. Mamadou N'diaye, Denver's first-round selection in the 2000 draft, had three points and six rebounds as the Nuggets improved to 2-3. Zendon Hamilton had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Clippers (3-2). First-round draft choice Darius Miles had just five points on 2-for-11 shooting from the field and 1-for-8 from the free-throw line. Corey Maggette's off-balance jumper with 3:50 left in the second quarter gave the Clippers their last lead, 43-41. The Nuggets answered with Voshon Lenard's jumper, and Mark Strickland scored eight points in the final 2:45 to give Denver a 53-47 halftime lead. The Clippers shot 5-for-19 in the third quarter to fall behind 79-65, and were within 89-79 before Murray took over in the fourth quarter. Murray hit three straight shots, including a 3-pointer, to put Denver ahead 97-83.
