HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) _ Stephon Marbury scored 22 points and the New Jersey Nets dominated the third quarter, defeating the winless Atlanta Hawks 102-90 in an exhibition game Tuesday night. The Nets (2-1) outscored the Hawks 38-20 in the third period, after going into halftime tied at 43-43. Marbury had eight assists and three steals in 29 minutes. He committed five turnovers. Kendall Gill had 16 points, Johnny Newman scored 15 and Jamie Feick added 10 points and nine rebounds for the Nets. Dikembe Mutombo paced the Hawks (0-5) with 11 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots. Jim Jackson also had 14 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Isaiah Rider had 11 points, but was just 4-of-13 from the floor. Cal Bowdler hit all five shots off the bench for 10 points as the Hawks reserves outscored New Jersey's bench, 45-26. The Nets, playing without Jayson Williams and Kerry Kittles, led by as many as 26 points in the second half. They were outrebounded 45-40 but forced 26 turnovers, 13 on steals.
