Connecticut's Shannon Johnson is making her fourth trip to the WNBA All-Star Game, as is Indiana's Natalie Williams, who will play for the first time as a member of the East squad.

Sacramento's Yolanda Griffith (fourth All-Star appearance), Minnesota's Katie Smith (fourth), Seattle's Lauren Jackson (third), and Los Angeles' Tamecka Dixon (third) round out the Western Conference All-Stars.

The 2003 WNBA All-Star Game will be played at 4 p.m. ET July 12 (ABC) at Madison Square Garden. ESPN2 is hosting a half-hour pregame show beginning at 3:30 p.m.

WNBA President Val Ackerman will name All-Star replacements for Becky Hammon (torn ACL) and Western Conference starter Cynthia Cooper (torn rotator cuff) on July 7.

Starters were announced on Monday, with Houston's Sheryl Swoopes the top vote-getter by fans. Swoopes received a league-record 124,575 votes.

Swoopes' teammates, Cooper (60,418 votes) and forward Tina Thompson (81,825) will join her in the West starting lineup. Sue Bird (89,174) of Seattle will start at guard and Los Angeles' Lisa Leslie (91,064) will start at center, rounding out the starting five based on the final voting totals released Monday.

Indiana Fever forward Tamika Catchings (112,812) received the most votes among Eastern Conference players. She is joined in the starting lineup by Washington's Chamique Holdsclaw (83,750) at forward, New York's Tari Phillips (81,402) at center, and the Liberty's Teresa Weatherspoon (79,137) and Charlotte's Dawn Staley (57,846) at guard.

Starters were determined by fans, who were able to vote at all WNBA arenas, as well as online. More than 2.78 million votes were cast, eclipsing the previous All-Star record by more than 300,000 (12 percent).

All ten starters have prior WNBA All-Star starting experience. Holdsclaw, Thompson and Weatherspoon are now five-time All-Stars. Leslie and Swoopes earned their fourth spots in the starting lineup.

New York Liberty Head Coach Richie Adubato will guide the Eastern Conference All-Stars, while Los Angeles Sparks Head Coach Michael Cooper will lead the West squad.
