Moya only faced one break point all match.

In other action, 2002 French Open champion Albert Costa beat Sargis Sargsian 6-4, 6-4, Nicolas Kiefer defeated Alexander Peya 7-5, 7-5, and Max Mirnyi ousted Jan-Michael Gambill 6-4, 6-2.

Also, Tim Henman eliminated fourth-seeded Sjeng Schalken 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, Stefan Koubek beat Nikolay Davydenko 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (3), and Jarkko Nieminen moved into the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-7 (10), 6-3 win over Juan Ignacio Chela.
