DALLAS (AP) _ Jason Kreis became the fourth player in MLS history to score 50 goals, connecting on a header in the 69th minute to lead the Dallas Burn over the Tampa Bay Mutiny 1-0 on a soggy Saturday night.

Kreis, last year's league MVP, scored on a corner kick from Chad Deering for his second goal of the season.

Before 11,491, Dallas goalkeeper Matt Jordan, who set the MLS shutout record with 11 last year, stopped five shots for his first of the season.

Tampa Bay (2-1) played without MLS leading scorer Raul Diaz Arce, who joined El Salvador for a World Cup qualifier against Guatemala on Sunday. Dallas (2-1) was without midfielder Jorge Rodriguez, who was also playing for El Salvador.

The Mutiny played with 10 players in the final minutes after second-half substitute Daniel Hernandez was ejected.

Diaz Arce, Miami's Roy Lassiter and Giovanni Savarese, formerly of New England, are the only other MLS players to score 50 goals.
