KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Miklos Molnar scored in the 38th minute and the Kansas City Wizards went on to beat the Colorado Rapids 3-0 Saturday night.

Before 5,250, Molnar put the Wizards ahead with his second goal of the season, which came in just his second MLS game.

Colorado goalie Adin Brown stopped a shot by Molnar from nine yards out, but Chris Klein retrieved the ball and flicked it to Molnar, who put it in the net from three yards.

Kansas City (2-0) added a goal in the 49th minute on a 25-yard shot by Mo Johnston after a pass by Molnar, and Klein scored in the 82nd minute.

Colorado (1-2) had its best scoring chance in the 64th minute, but Wizards goalkeeper Tony Meola deflected a header by Jason Moore.

Colorado defender Scott Vermillion left after a 30th-minute tackle left him with a deep cut in his left leg.
