Throughout Minnesota's inaugural training camp, Scott Pellerin will check in with the goings on with the Wild. Scott, a seven-year NHL veteran who might be the team's first captain, checks in with Day 4 -- a win and a CAT scan.

With the later game on Sunday, I actually had time to have breakfast with my family. It felt good to sleep in. Right before I left, my daughter fell and cut her mouth. She was OK, but It was tough for me to leave the hotel this morning.

Pellerin, right, knows that all the hard work and conditioning will pay off once the season starts.

When I got to the arena, the first game was in progress. I went to the trainer's room to get a heat pack. I can't wait to get settled. The hotel bed is killing my back.

Like all training camps, you will have some nagging injuries. The Wild camp is just like the others. The training room is a very busy place. You can read the paper, get an ultrasound, a stretch, ice and even get stiched up -- like the rabbit yesterday. A good medical trainer can play a big part in the success of the team.

On the ice, our team finally won a game. We have the most veterans on our team. We have Jeff Odgers , Curtis Leschyshyn , J.J. Daigneault, Darby Hendrickson, Jeff Nielsen and Darryl Laplante. Everyone is playing well. I have played againt all these guys before, but now that we are on the same team, I can really appreciate how good they are. Even in the games, it's hard to think that we are all on the same team. It's still tough not to see guys in their old team uniforms. I can't wait to pass and only see Wild uniforms.

One thing I could wait to see was that shoulder I took to the face in the first period today (Sunday). I had a lot of swelling around my eye, so the doctors wanted me to get a CAT scan at the hospital. I don't think its bad, but they want to check to make sure. It wouldn't be camp without a black eye!

Pellerin on his first big hit of camp.

The rookies and tryout players the Wild invited to camp have really impressed me. We have a great group of prospects. For a lot of them, it's their first pro camp, and they are doing great. The coachs have kept their distance from the players, and I am sure the rookies are wondering what's going on, and what's going to happen next. There is a lot of pressure at camp, and the last thing you need is to be worrying all day.

Well, tomorrow will be our last scheduled day of scrimmages before we start practices with the coaches. I haven't scored a goal yet but missed some good scoring chances. I guess you don't want to start out too hot!

But a little warm would be nice!
