Ottawa Senators: Free-agent winger Denis Hamel signed a multiyear contract with the Senators after spending part of last season with the Buffalo Sabres.
He had two goals and 17 penalty minutes in 25 games with the Sabres. Hamel played 48 games with Buffalo's AHL affiliate, the Rochester Americans, and finished with 27 goals and 20 assists.
The left wing has played 130 games with Buffalo, totaling 13 goals and nine assists.
The Sabres acquired Hamel from St. Louis for Charlie Huddy and a seventh-round pick in the 1996 NHL entry draft. |
