About the play: Jon Kitna has played great as Seattle's starting quarterback. Now that Joey Galloway is back, the Seahawks have speed on the outside. This play is a great way for Seattle to use Galloway's speed and precise route running to its advantage. Galloway will come across in motion. The ball will be snapped just as he passes the right tackle. This is done for timing. Galloway will show the flat route and then angle back inside. The Z receiver (Derrick Mayes) will run his comeback and be the outlet for Kitna. Galloway will push his route to six yards and angle back inside and look for the ball. Key to the play: Galloway. He has to make this route look like a flat route. He must sell to his cover guy that he is running to the outside, then dip back underneath and look for the ball. Critical player: Galloway must get to his depth and not allow his cover man to bump him off his route, or the play is dead.
Defensive strategy: The best defense is a good middle linebacker who will look up the route and be waiting for Galloway on his angle route. Kitna has to have a good touch on the ball. | ALSO SEE ![]()
