LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Shaquille O'Neal had 38 points and 15 rebounds Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Los Angeles Clippers 122-98 to extend their winning streak to 11 games _ longest in the NBA this season.

The win was also the 18th in 19 games for the Lakers as well as their 11th straight over the Clippers.

The Clippers, who scored an NBA record low 19 points in the first half of a 95-68 loss to the Lakers on Dec. 14, lost their third straight after winning three in a row for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

The Clippers had 20 points by the time this game was 8 1/2 minutes old, and their 61 first-half points were the most allowed by the Lakers this season.

The Lakers, who looked like a much different team in the second half, went ahead for good by outscoring the Clippers 16-8 to start the third quarter, putting them ahead 75-69.

The Lakers, whose 26-5 record is the NBA's best, scored the final nine points of the period for a 96-79 lead, and the Clippers weren't closer than 14 points in the fourth quarter.

O'Neal, who made 17-of-26 field goal attempts and 4-of-9 foul shots, scored 23 points in the first half. He left the game for good with 4:43 remaining.

Kobe Bryant added 29 points and nine rebounds, and Glen Rice scored 19 points for the Lakers despite sitting out the fourth quarter.

Lamar Odom and Tyrone Nesby each scored 22 points for the Clippers, with Odom also getting 12 rebounds. Maurice Taylor added 16 points for the losers.

Neither team led by more than three points until the Clippers scored the final five of the first quarter for a 29-24 lead.

The Lakers went on a 9-4 run to start the second period to tie the game 33-all, and scored eight straight points to go ahead 50-44. The Clippers then went on a 17-9 spurt to finish the first half for a 61-59 lead.

Clippers center Michael Olowokandi drew three fouls in the opening 3:15 of play, and didn't return to action until the start of the second half. He wound up with one point and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes, missing all eight of his field goal attempts.
