PEORIA, Arizona (Ticker) -- Russ Ortiz allowed just one run and five hits over six innings as the San Francisco Giants posted a 6-5 Cactus League victory over the Seattle Mariners.

Ortiz walked one and struck out three to earn his first victory of the spring.

The Mariners made it close in the bottom of the ninth, when Antonio Perez belted a three-run homer off Felix Rodriguez.

Freddy Garcia suffered the loss, surrendering four runs and seven hits over five frames.

Pinch-hitter Tory Torcato gave the Giants a 6-1 lead with a two-run single in the top of the eighth.

Stan Javier had two hits for the Mariners.
