SALT LAKE CITY (AP) _ Kori Hlede scored 13 of her 20 points in the second half as the Utah Starzz rallied from a four-point deficit in the final 50.5 seconds to beat the Phoenix Mercury 87-84 Friday night.

"I feel like I can do this every game," Hlede said. "Sometimes it is not going to happen, sometimes it will, but I'm going to try every time."

Adrienne Goodson's reverse layup gave the Starzz (11-10) an 85-84 lead with 24.1 seconds remaining, and Natalie Williams made two free throws to seal the victory.

"I think that in the end they just got tired," Goodson said.

Phoenix forward Brandy Reed, named to the All-Star game earlier in the day, had 25 points, and Jennifer Gillom added 20 _ including 16 in the second half.

Utah led 40-38 at halftime, and led by as many as eight in the second half. However, Gillom rallied the Mercury (13-7) to an 84-80 lead in the final minute.

"Basketball is 90 percent chemistry and that is something that is coming for us," said Jennifer Azzi. "Down the stretch that is hugely important."

The start of the game was delayed 30 minutes, as the Mercury were exhausted by an 11-hour trip from Phoenix. The team's team original flight was canceled, so they were rerouted to Denver, but the subsequent flight to Salt Lake City was delayed for several hours.
