BOX SCORE
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) _ Brian McBride and Dante Washington each scored two goals as the Columbus Crew beat the Miami Fusion 4-2 on Saturday night in Major League Soccer. The loss was Miami's first under new head coach Ray Hudson, who guided the Fusion to three straight victories after taking over the team on May 8. The Crew (5-6-1) wasted little time in scoring, with McBride making it 1-0 in the third minute of the match. McBride took advantage of the Fusion's failure to clear a pass deep inside their penalty box area and successfully converted on a left-footed shot from 8 yards. Miami (4-4-4) tied it in the 25th minute on Martin Machon's header from 10 yards. But the Crew struck back and took a 2-1 lead on McBride's second goal in the 27th minute. Washington gave Columbus a 3-1 lead in the 48th minute. Miami's Jim Rooney scored in the 53rd minute, and Washington completed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 89th minute.
