Jingoism: Passionately rooting for your own country ... and against the other countries. Hey, throw on an official jersey, join the rest of the cool kids and watch our squad -- the biggest bandwagon this side of Luis Castillo -- on Friday morning.

But win or lose, it's a sportsmanship thing these days, apparently forgotten in Italy, where the Korean guy who scored the winning goal against the Abruzzi was booted off his bush-league Italian team. (Oh, he can probably find work in South Korea these days.) I'm not suggesting that you swap button-down shirts with that German guy in the cubicle next to you before you head home for the weekend, but now that the World Cup is down to an elite eight, it's hip to work on your own status as a gracious player.
