Nearly 5,000 votes were cast from Thursday morning to Friday morning as the latest case of The Berman Files that aimed to find a moniker for the Colorado Avalanche superstar captain.
"Super Joe" won with 900 votes (18.2 percent), followed by "Joe Cool" with 891 votes (18.0 percent), "The Silencer" with 607 votes (12.2 percent) and "Sakic Phenomenon" with 595 votes (12.0 percent).
"Super Joe" and "Burnaby Joe" had been given to Sakic in his past, but Page 2 editors wanted to find something that would catch on better. A phenomenon, perhaps. That's why we liked "Sakic Phenomenon" and "The Silencer."
