After we opened another case for The Berman Files, Page 2 readers flooded us with more than 2,000 letters suggesting nicknames for Rockies heavy hitter Todd Helton.
Todd "Hotter Than" Helton Why: Simple, he never seems to go on a cold spell. Dent Mcminn Kennesaw, Ga. Todd "Mt. St." Helton Because he's an offensive eruption ... Dave Hallock Chicago Todd "Who The" Helton? Why you ask? Because, I didn't know who this guy was until this year, granted I don't follow baseball religiously, but with the Twinkies playing great ball, I've been paying closer attention. This guy isn't really a household name now, but he is playing great ball. Randy Roiger Alexandria, Minn. Todd "Bat Outta" Helton Todd Helton is an elite hitter in today's game. For those who argue that he aids from his friendly confines, the numbers show that Helton puts up solid numbers on the road. Pitchers fear him because, Helton is a truly good hitter, with a bat out of hell. Justin Clark San Diego, Calif. Because he's got more hits than Meatloaf. BJ Brinkerhoff Washington, D.C. Josh Jones La Quinta, Calif. "The Knoxville Knocker" Todd typifies everything Tennessee - jovial, relaxed, dates his sister (just kidding).
