Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the Sweet 16 with an inside look at the Georgia women's playbook.
  • First round: Defeated Montana, 74-46
  • Second round: Defeated Stanford, 83-64
  • Sweet 16: Defeated North Carolina, 83-57
  • Elite Eight: Lost to Rutgers, 59-51

Regardless of the loss to Mississippi State in the SEC semifinals, the Lady Bulldogs -- making their sixth straight trip to the Big Dance -- still have what it takes for a return trip to the Final Four. Remember, this is the same team that handed Tennessee its worst SEC loss ever, beating the Lady Vols by 27 points back in January, and the same team that found a way to San Jose last year with just one senior. Junior twins Kelly and Coco Miller still carry the team on their shoulders, but all five of the Lady Bulldogs' starters are key contributors. Deana Nolan (12.6 ppg) and Tawana McDonald (12.4 ppg) have both improved over last season, and proved they're as important to Georgia as a fertilized egg's ability to split. An off shooting night from one of the twins, however, could spell trouble for Georgia as the Millers combine for 30 points a game. Key stat: Always a bridesmaid ... the Bulldogs have made five Final Four appearances, and despite heavy expecations, have never won an NCAA title.
