TORONTO (AP) -- The Philadelphia 76ers' road winning streak is
over, and the Toronto Raptors didn't even need Vince Carter to end
it.

Carter played less than four minutes before aggravating a knee
injury, but Morris Peterson scored tied a career-high with 22
points as the Raptors stopped Philadelphia's 13-game road winning
streak with a 96-89 victory Tuesday night.
"We recognized our best player was gone, but we stepped up,"
Peterson said. "It was a big win. Philly's streak was almost
unheard of."
The 76ers had not lost on the road since Dec. 5 against the
Lakers.
"I'm just happy I got a chance to contribute to something like
this. It's definitely something I'm going to cherish for the rest
of my life," said Allen Iverson, who had 38 points. "They played
a great game because they didn't have their Man."
Dell Curry scored 17 points, Alvin Williams had 16, Mark Jackson
15 and Antonio Davis 11 for the Raptors, who also beat the Sixers
in Philadelphia on Jan. 21.
"I was surprised by the way Toronto played -- especially when
Vince Carter went down," Philadelphia's Tyrone Hill said.
Carter, the leading vote-getter for the All-Star game for the
second straight year, has been bothered by "jumper's knee" since
November. Just before the game, Carter said he couldn't push off on
it.
Carter started but left with 8:22 remaining in the first
quarter. He will undergo tests on Wednesday and won't travel with
the team to Atlanta.
"My knee has uncomfortable pain right know whenever I drive or
move to the basket," Carter said. "We'll see what the problem
is."
Hill made two free throws, narrowing Toronto's lead to two
points with 2:53 remaining, but Peterson followed with a layup.
After Williams made one of two free throws, Iverson made a layup
and Davis had a layup, giving Toronto a 92-87 lead with 1:10
remaining.
Hill followed with an 18-foot jumper, but then missed a wide
open 3-pointer -- his first attempt from behind the arc all season.
"I got double-teamed. The clock was running down and I should
have passed it out, but I just had one in the corner so what did I
have to lose?" Hill said. "I should have called a timeout."
Jackson made two free throws, giving Toronto a 94-89 lead with
16.6 remaining, and Curry made two to seal it with 11.6 seconds
left.
"I thought we displayed great character tonight, especially
with Vince going down," Toronto coach Lenny Wilkens said.
Iverson scored 21 points in the first half, but one of Carter's
replacements, Curry, had eight of his 12 points in the last six
minutes as the Raptors narrowed an 11-point deficit to one.
"When Vince goes down I guess I'm next in line," Curry said.
"With Vince going down we had to rally."
