SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ Chris Webber returned to the lineup
with 29 points and 13 rebounds as the Sacramento Kings pulled away
in the second half for a 100-71 victory over the Chicago Bulls on
Wednesday night. After missing the last two games with an ankle sprain, Webber
scored 10 of the Kings' first 15 points. He made 12 of 21 shots and
added five assists, helping Sacramento win for the sixth time in
seven games. Following a sluggish first half offensively, the Kings produced
a 13-1 run that started midway through the third quarter.
Sacramento opened the fourth quarter with eight straight points to
take a 76-57 lead. The Bulls, the NBA's lowest scoring team, shot 34 percent from
the field. It was the seventh straight loss for the Bulls, who have one
game remaining on a seven-game road trip. Peja Stojakovic scored 13 points for Sacramento, Bobby Jackson
had 12 and Jason Williams added 11 points and seven rebounds. Vlade
Divac scored 10 points and had 12 rebounds. Elton Brand led the Bulls with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ron
Artest had 14 points, while both Ron Mercer and Corey Benjamin had
10. Holding a 55-53 lead in the third quarter, the Kings made their
move. Divac made a reverse layup and Webber followed with a jumper,
giving Sacramento a six-point lead. A layup by Hidayet Turkoglu and Williams' long jumper put the
Kings ahead 63-53 and closed the 13-1 run. Chicago scored only four
points in the final six minutes of the third quarter, all on foul
shots. In a sloppy first half that featured 23 turnovers, Webber scored
17 points to help the Kings take a 45-39 lead at the break. Notes: The Bulls have scored 100 or more points in only eight of
