WASHINGTON (AP) _ Grant Hill made the go-ahead basket with 1:07 left to cap a 39-point performance as the Detroit Pistons rallied from a 16-point deficit to beat the shorthanded Washington Wizards 112-107 on Saturday night.

Jerry Stackhouse scored 27 for the Pistons, who beat Washington at home one night earlier. Detroit, which trailed 69-53 with nine minutes left in the third quarter, has won four straight on the road and nine of 10 overall.

Hill, who eclipsed the 29-point mark in a seventh straight game, carried Detroit down the stretch. After Washington took a 95-93 lead, he scored 12 of the Pistons' next 13 points.

Hill's jumper off the glass tied it at 103, and his two free throws put Detroit up 105-103 with 1:39 left. With the score 105-all, Hill connected from the outside to put Detroit up for good.

The Wizards misfired on their next two trips down the court, and a free throw by Stackhouse made it 108-105 with 9.8 seconds to go. Washington's Tracy Murray then missed a 3-point attempt, and Stackhouse scored two from the line to clinch it.

Rod Strickland had 27 points for the Wizards, who have lost eight of 10. Washington played all but one minute of the second half without leading scorer Mitch Richmond, who hurt his right rib early in the third quarter.

Washington also was without reserve forward Richard Hamilton, who missed a second straight game because of a death in the family.

The Wizards opened the second half with a 6-0 run to take a 67-51 lead. It was 73-58 before Strickland was called for a technical, and Stackhouse converted the foul shot to start a 13-5 spree that helped the Pistons cut the margin to six points entering the fourth quarter.

Notes: Detroit improved to 14-2 when scoring 100 points or more. The Wizards are 1-17 when allowing at least 100 points. ... Before the game there was a moment of silence for the Charlotte Hornets' Bobby Phills, who was killed in an auto accident Wednesday. ... Washington is 2-8 in games decided by five points or less.
