The Cincinnati Bengals may not be a bridesmaid on free-agent offensive tackle Jerry Wunsch, who notified the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his former club, on Friday that he is close to signing a new contract.

The Bengals have been unsuccessful in several attempts to sign free agents, although they claim their modest contract proposals are protection against running back Corey Dillon signing a contract with another club.
