  RECAP | BOX SCORE

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Rushia Brown's steal and layup sparked Cleveland's 18-2 run to close the game as the Rockers rallied to beat the Sacramento Monarchs 81-70 Monday night.

Brown scored six points during the decisive run as Cleveland (6-3) snapped a two-game losing streak and Sacramento's four-game winning streak.

Eva Nemcova led Cleveland with 21 points, but reserves Brown, Mery Andrade and rookie point guard Helen Darling keyed the turnaround over the final five minutes. Brown scored 12 points, Andrade, who forced several turnovers with tenacious defense, had 11 and Darling added 10.

The Monarchs did not score over the final 5:23 after Tangela Smith's drive gave Sacramento a 70-65 lead.

Smith led Sacramento (5-4) with 19 points, while Kedra Holland-Korn scored 15.

Sacramento's swarming defense at the outset of the second half helped turn an 11-point deficit into a five-point lead.

Holland-Korn turned three quick turnovers into seven points -- twice scoring on fastbreak layups following steals and then hitting a 23-foot 3-pointer to tie the score at 59.

Point guard Tichia Penicheiro's passing led the Monarchs on the 13-2 run to start the second half. She finished with a game-high 11 assists, but missed all five of her shots from the field and scored one point.

Darling scored all of her career-high 10 points in a 3:22 span midway through the first half.

Cleveland made all six of its shots from 3-point range in the first half and opened a 53-42 lead by halftime.

The Rockers missed their first seven 3-point attempts in the second half until Nemcova connected with 2:15 to play to put Cleveland ahead 74-70.
