A shoulder problem that bothered him throughout the year was corrected in the offseason with arthtroscopic surgery ... Directed one of the most memorable drives in NFL history against Cleveland in the AFC Championship Game, a 23-20 overtime win ... Drove Denver 98 yards in 15 plays to tie the game at the end of regulation and then took them 60 yards in nine plays to set up the winning field goal.

In only his third year, set Broncos single-season record with 605 pass attempts (only four behind NFL record, set by Dan Fouts), 327 completions and 3,891 passing yards ... His 4,414 yards of total offense led the league.
