Injury can't hold Plummer down

Associated Press

PHOENIX -- Arizona quarterback Jake Plummer left Sunday's win over the New York Giants early in the third quarter with a hip pointer.

Plummer hurt his left hip when he was tackled on the Cardinals' first possession of the third quarter with Arizona leading 14-0. He went to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative, and returned to the game with 4:05 left and Arizona leading 14-3.

Plummer, who was recovering from a right thumb he sprained in the preseason, was having by far his best game of the season when he was hurt. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 156 yards and touchdown and was not intercepted.

Going into the game, Plummer was the lowest-rated starting quarterback in the NFL with two touchdown passes and 13 interceptions.
