Inside the Playbook: Michigan at UCLA

UCLA already has upset one No. 3-ranked team. Why not do it again? The Bruins will try to do just that when Michigan comes to the Rose Bowl this Saturday.

Michigan has cruised through a couple cupcakes despite being without quarterback Drew Henson (7). The Bruins hope to get DeShaun Foster (26) in the same groove he enjoyed against Alabama, but its not likely against Michigan. The Wolverines are just too tough up the middle. Inside linebackers Anthony Jordan (28) and Larry Foote (17) will be quite familar with Foster by game's end.

Coaching Points:

  • Michigan has to stop DeShaun Foster (26).
  • If Wolverines linebackers Larry Foote (17) and Anthony Jordan (28) can get to Foster, it will slow the entire offense. When Foster runs, he helps open the passing game.
  • Foote (17) and Jordan (28) stunt to confuse the Bruins' blocking scheme.
