Thomas Tramples Tigers
Wide receiver Ronald Bellamy and the Wolverines got past Auburn. Anthony Thomas had to do something to make up for a late-season fumble against Northwestern that hurt Michigan's Rose Bowl hopes. Mission accomplished. Thomas ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Wolverines to a 31-28 victory over Auburn in the Citrus Bowl. In the process, Thomas became Michigan's all-time leading rusher with 4,393 yards.

"For 2 weeks all these Auburn fans yapping about how Michigan shouldn't complain about those 3 losses by 7 points, that a loss is a loss. Now, when 2 close plays don't go Auburn's way, they say how everything would have been so much different. So which is it, boys?"
