Week 2: Watch out Duke, Arkansas St. makes a move

ESPN.com

The Bottom 10's inspirational thought of the week:

"There is no virtue like winning and no sin worse than losing." -- Murray Warmath, University of Minnesota coach (1954-71)

One member of the preseason Bottom 10 opened play last weekend and the result was predictable. It was Virginia Tech 56, Arkansas State 0 -- at halftime!

With apologies to Steve Harvey, here's this week's Bottom 10:

Team Record Comments
1. Duke 0-0 Can Steve Logan and ECU blow another big lead and allow Duke to win?
2. Arkansas State 0-1 Collect $600,000 for trip to Blacksburg and advance three spaces.
3. Houston 0-0 Cross-town rival Rice looks to plant UH in the Bayou Bucket -- again.
4. Navy 0-0 Travel to Dallas to play SMU -- Boy, the '64 Cotton Bowl was a long time ago.
5. UL-U Pick'em 0-0 Hmmm. What's a better place after an L, The Grove in Oxford or the Dixie Chicken in College Station?
6. Idaho 0-0 Vandals travel to in-state rival Boise State -- when exactly does the ski season begin?
7. Baylor 0-0 Beat Cal and send the other Bears to the Bottom 10.
8. Kansas 0-0 If Seneca Wallace and the Cyclones could score 31 on the 'Noles ...
9. UConn 0-0 Huskies visit Boston College. Hope they enjoy the Freedom Trail.
10. Vanderbilt 0-0 Good school = bad football team. Oh, wait. Here comes Georgia Tech.
10a. Northwestern 0-34 The immortal 1979-82 Wildcats who will remain on the list as long as Duke is in their neighborhood.

Waiting list: California, Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Rutgers, Tulane, Tulsa and Wyoming.

ESPN.com users had plenty to say about the second Bottom 10 ranking of the season.
