SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) _ Ricky Ray scored on a 2-yard keeper early in the fourth quarter as Sacramento State held on to beat Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo 31-26 Saturday.

The Hornets finished with a 6-5 record, while the Mustangs ended the season 3-8.

Sacramento State led 14-0 on touchdowns by Charles Roberts and Chris Kelly. Roberts scored again on a 10-yard run with 1:15 left in the second quarter for a 21-3 lead.

The Mustangs trailed 24-20 in the third quarter after Ray was intercepted and Jeff Shaw scored on a 2-yard run. But their point-after attempt failed.

Ray was 15-of-21 passing for 233 yards. His TD in the fourth kept Sacramento State ahead 31-20.

Cal Poly's Kassim Osgood caught a 16-yard TD pass from Andy Jepson with 2:03 remaining in the game. Jepson was 25-of-36 for 338 yards and two touchdowns.
