RICHMOND, Va. (AP) _ Doug Kirchner kicked a 30-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining Saturday to give Richmond a 41-38 victory over Rhode Island. Richmond quarterback Jimmie Miles ran for 152 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 180 yards and a touchdown. The Spiders had 421 yards of total offense. Kirchner had missed two extra points before kicking the game-winning field goal. Richmond (3-3, 2-3 Atlantic 10) was slowed by four turnovers, including three fumbles that the Rams (0-5, 0-3) turned into 17 points. The Rams' David Jamison ran for four touchdowns. His 2-yard run tied the game at 38 with 2:04 remaining. For the Spiders, Paris Lenon returned a blocked extra point for two points and Cordell Roane had a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown. Rhode Island quarterback Ken Mastrole was 19-of-37 for 230 yards. The Rams had 331 yards of total offense.
