PITTSBURGH (AP) _ Kevan Barlow rushed for a career-high 206 yards, including touchdown runs of 61 and 57 yards, to lead Pitt past Kent 30-23 on Saturday at Pitt Stadium.

Kent (0-3) had the nation's longest major-college losing streak extended to 16 games.

Barlow's performance, combined with Nick Goings' career-high 97 rushing yards, was one of the best running efforts by Pitt (2-1) in recent years. The Panthers rushed 48 times for 351 yards, the most in Pitt coach Walt Harris' three-year tenure.

With the scored 10-10, Barlow ran for 38 yards during a 13-play drive in the third quarter that culminated with Goings' 1-yard touchdown run that gave Pitt a 17-10 lead. Goings had 25 yards during the drive.

Kent drove to Pitt's 16 on its next possession before settling for a field goal and trailed 17-13 when the Panthers put the game away.

On fourth-and-2 at the Kent 24, John Turman hit Latef Grim with a 10-yard pass. Barlow ran for five yards on third down and, two plays later, Chris Feola went the last five yards for the TD and a 24-13 lead.

Barlow's 57-yard run made it 30-16 in the fourth quarter.
